For my first blog entry I’m going to take you on a paradise throwback. As you know, my husband Alex and I work for Royal Caribbean. This past contract we were aboard The Mariner of The Seas that cruised to places like Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. During a cruise in March we stopped for an overnight trip to a place called Laem Chabang, Thailand. This particular port was the access hub to Bangkok, but I’ll do a post about Bangkok for another day. Pattaya was the place to go during this stop!
Our contract had been very busy, and we knew wanted to spoil ourselves a little with either a shared AirBnB with some friends, or go all out at a resort. Well, of course, we picked the resort option. After looking at several eligible places in mind, we picked The Cape Dara Resort located just 30 minutes from the cruise terminal.
Check-in to this resort is a 5-star experience in itself. We had booked the Dara Private Pool Suite, which came with an escort upon arrival to the Dara Club Lounge located at the very top of the building. I found this tactic so smart of the resort to have the check-in lounge above all of Pattaya. As you walk into the lounge the views of the surrounding area was just stunning, it made me even more excited to be there and just ready to have a cocktail by the pool, by the private pool! We were offered drinks and delicious snacks and pastries as we waited to be escorted down to our pool suite.
As soon as I stepped into the suite I was giddy with joy and excitement, this is exactly what I needed! I changed into my bathing suit faster than I ever had before and dipped into our private pool like a little kid. The temperature was perfect, the weather was perfect, the suite was just perfect.
Our overnight was exactly what we needed! The next morning we enjoyed a beautiful buffet styled breakfast that looked out over the beach and the Ko Chun Bay.
So, if you’re ever in Pattaya make sure to book your stay at the Cape Dara Resort
